What Suspension to Fit 38's

why not cut some?

that's a lot of lift for a vehicle that isn't really needed

hey, my explorer was on 38s, and its SAS, and its even a 92 sport, right now its temp on 35s, till the new axles go under the truck, which would be a 3/4ton D44, and a 14bolt rear and at least 39.5 , but now its getting a 12 inch suspension lift all around and maybe if i wanna go bigger tire, a 3 inch BL

what happened to atleast 44"s+ and atleast d60 front? :D

ya never know caleb, later on down the road i may get board and make it off road only and go with rockwells, but since i have a 2dr, i can get away with a 3/4ton HD D44, cause any D60 that you find for cheap usually needs to be gone thru, and so pretty much anyway you look at it, its $1500 for a good D60, i just gotta see how $$ is later on, but hey, 1ton rear and 3/4ton front axle aint bad for a 2dr explorer

You can call it 3/4 ton all day long.............it doesn't seperate it much at all from any 1/2 ton HP D44. In stock form, any HP D44 is reliable up to about 37-38" tires (locked).

And yea, 12" lift plus a possible extra body lift is............just........um..........way too much!!! Time to invest in a sawzall and cut that lift in half.

my boy has a hp dana 44 under a 94 f150 sitting on 46" claws. hes pulled out a big rig WITH the trailer and a new f250 on 38 boggers at the beach. hes running 4:88 gears no lockers and stock axle parts. he did change bearings and ujoint b4 he installed it. the ujoints are from napa though... like 12 bucks a piece. and he hasnt broke anything. dana are stronger than you think. hes got an extra housing im getting off him but im gonna go all out and install warn shafts, ox joints, warn hubs, and 4:11 gears to run 35s. its all about how much $ you want to spend
