The Swiss Army has some, but they are actually German, made by Mercedes Benz - oups, I wanted to say - Dimler-Chrysler AG. They are more off-road trucks than SUV's and very capable off-road. In auctions, you get Swiss Army Unimogs in drivable conditions for around $ 1000. Therefore, for all you guys who want one, money should not be an issue.

Which vehicle would I like, if there were no Explorers? You don't expect me to give you an answer on this one, do you?

I would go with the BMW X-5 4.4,i priced one the other day.
The one i wanted was 55,000 $$$$ TO MUCH . I'll wait for
the Baby Nav,(if i can wait that long.)

Fritz
"98" Sport 4X4 SOHC

I would have a Kia Sportage. I love light vehicles, they are easier to push when you get stuck. I had a Samurai, but it was too jumpy, though it went places other drivers did not want to take their rigs. Two could carry it out of a rut.

A '95 or '96 Toyota Land Cruiser with lokers (front, center, and rear).

technically a sniper isn't a sport utility vehicle... :). I'd take a durango, or maybe a grand cherokee... probably the durango though, I like those things :). Really pricy though...

It is though. :) Well sorta.. nothing is registered as a suv. Its either passenger car or truck. At least here in Colorado. A sniper is registered under a Jeep CJ usually. At least the last time I saw one. So yes its still a SUV. At least to me. Its more sporty and utility'ed then my Explorer is. :) I would say technically that any vehicles with real IFS and or IRS and no real 4x4 transfercase is not a SUV too but hey I won't go there. :)

ah, but could you imagine a sniper at the grocery store, or the soccer field? LOL itd be a sight, I bet everyone would stop and check it out :)

If I didn't have an Explorer and money is not an object....?

I would take the Lincoln Navigator or BMW X-5 or the Land Rover Range Rover or a supercharged Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I'll go for the Durango. I test drove one. Seems nice enough and had plenty of power, nice interior and didn't look too bad.

Found this on ebay, just for you donkeyboy, a 97 for 25,800. Dead Link Removed

One word: Splat.

Thanks Jeff

You're a friend ...

No Explorers!?!?!

Well if there were no explorers in the world I would have to go for any other Ford truck. If not that a hummer or a subaru outback or vw passat +4 (all-wheel drive).

Well it is the dreamiest 4x4 offroad vehicle ever!! I think the base price is like $40grand. Look at Avalanche Engineering

I will add to my choice. A J**p Grand Cheroke would be nice.

Well, the sniper would definetly be a cool "TOY", but I wouldn't wanna replace my Explorer with it.

Thanks for the link Brian!

To add to my Navigator choice, also a 2K+ F-150 XLT 4X4 off-road, Deep Wedgewood Blue w/harvest gold and dark graphite interior!
