what to do first

so i recently purchased my first car its a 93 2dr eddie bauer explorer and wondered what you would sugest as some of my first mods nothing big just a little something i can do on my own i allready know i want a brush gaurd and auxillry lights what do you think

I would start by changing ever fluid in the vehicle. Tranny, transfer, diffs, radiator. Then fix all check engine light issues. Then do spark plugs, wires. Check air filter. Jack up the front tires. Make sure they don't wobble and spin smoothly. Check front and rear brakes. Take it out on the interstate. See how it drives. If it starts to get scary at 60 or so shocks are probably shot. See if it seems like there is a lot of body roll. When going 30 or so yank it around. Shocks are shot if it bounces around. Fix anything else that doesn't work correctly.

Now you're ready to start modifying!
