Hi all.
I just bought a 1991 explorer sport for $300 cdn. this truck runs awesome. motor has 12,000 km on it i was told. new exhaust on it as well.
It has a 5 speed in it that will go in my 1992 sport. the 92 is my daily driver. it has the auto in it now.
This new truck has less miles on it than my dd but will be a pain to transfer registration from alberta to b.c. then pay for inspection and then fix what ever may be wrong.
So... the 91 has
5speed - plus .
3.73 gears. - plus.
straight body panels. lol -plus
sunroof - plus
good interior- plus.
i am going to swap all into my 92 over the next month or so. then paint the 92.
every thing i take off of the 92 will go back on the 91. so i will still have two running trucks. there will be nothing going back in the interior except seats and dash. no carpets, head liner or plastic panels.
this truck will be used to bomb around a friends property and generally abuse.
now should i put a 85 ranger xtracab on it? it is a freebie, and then a little deck out back?
will there be a lot of weight savings?
will it fit fairly easy?
or chop it up , down to frame and seats and roll-cage it. get rid of everything not needed? any thoughts and suggestions are welcome.
