I have a few questions. First and foremost, for those of you that are running 15's, do you get a lot of distortion? I was just going to run 2 12's, but I started thinking about running 2 15's instead. What do you all think?

Also, I need some good recommendations for some 2-Ohm DVC Subs...I want decent SQ and SPL, but I don't want it to put a strain on my wallet. I am a big fan of JL Audio, but I am willing to go somewhere else if the recommendation is good. I have heard Audiobahn, but then again I have heard that they are bad. The new JVC Warren G Series sound good, but they are only 4-Ohm DVC.

I have a Fosgate 1000bd Amp, and I want to wire 2 subs together into a 2-Ohm load to be sending approximately 500 Watts to each. What are your alls recommendations for some 12's or 15's that are not too expensive and offer the best bang?

And also, 12's or 15's???

the 12s vs 15s debate really depends on the subs your buying. Most subs in the power handling range your looking at really dont' lose much sound quality in the bigger size. If you were to go on the high end price wise for that power you'd actually get better sq imo with a larger sub. Then again some people swear by the bass they get from 10s (to me it sounds awful even listening to clapton).

your amp is 2 ohm stable by 1 channel. so you can use dvc 2 ohm subs as you've figured out, but you can also use svc 4 ohm subs. My mtx 9500 are actually svc subs. Either way will work just the same for your needs. If i were you i'd be looking long and hard at mtx or rockford for the subs. they are both so tried and true, and on a budget i dont' think they can be beat for the total package that they provide- easy warranty work, good durability, better than the competition sq and spl for the dollar, etc. etc. both have the money to do the research and development and the type of sub your looking for is their bread and butter and they do it better than anyone else for the $.

What do you think of MTX's lower end though? My buddy has 2 MTX 4000's hooked up to a Kenwood 600 from Circuit City and they don't sound too bad in his Tiburon, but what do you think of MTX's lower end? Wouldn't Fosgates get better than MTX's lower end, or is it just me coming from the "anything you can buy at Circuit City is not worth it" way of life?

I will never forget CC wiring up a DVC 2-Ohm I had using only 1 set of coils to produce a 2-Ohm load whenever I asked them for a dual 4-ohm load...I was just about to turn 16, and I was on a trip and they wired it for me. But are the ones you can buy at CC really that bad? Not that I would buy from them, cause I am thinking Stage 2 Fosgate Punchs right now, but I might still get some MTX's.

MTX is a bang for the buck kind of company...u dont pay for flashy bling bling so instead u get the money put into the workings of the sub they are good for the money

just do 4 15s and get it over with =)..i am!!!!!

eD is having a pre-order sale on there new V2 subs. They won't be shipping until the first part of July, but if you can wait that long the pre-order savings are pretty big. I personally haven't heard the old eD's, but everyone I've talked to say they are great subs. I don't know of anyone who's got a chance to hear the V2's yet.

The K series 15's are on sale for $100 a peice (dual 2 or 4 ohm to select from), and the O series are $195 a piece. I've heard enough good things about them in the past, and I'm impressed with there take on car audio and sales, so I'm going to give them a try and pick up an O series 15.
