What to use for speaker grille in front doors?

Well I am finally getting around to working on the speakers in this truck and it looks like the previous owner decided to get to the old speakers through the plastic grilles... [Not the brightest bulb in the chandelier]....

Anywho, I need to replace this material and Fords' solution is to replace the door panels...NOT...

Has anyone had to replace the plastic grilles and what did you use?

Try a hardware store like Ace and look in the metal section for some wire mesh material.

If all else fails look for door panels at a salvage yard.
