Well, no answers on my other thread, maybe if I word it differently.
All of you 5.0 4x4 Exploder guys, which transfer case do you have in your truck?
I don't know why I cannot find application info on transfer cases. Long week I guess....
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Chris

all v-8 powered explorers have the AWD transfer case in them.

there are threads for a BW4406 swap to make it a part time full time four wheeler.

and after reading alot of these threads I want one to do my 5.0 v-8.

look at this thread!

Ah, that makes sense, I am searching for something that wasn't made, lol. That is a little silly to only offer it in AWD, but I guess Ford wasn't aiming for the offroad crowd with these originally.
I am planning on swapping the drivetrain from our 5.0 truck into our 4.0 truck for the wife, really hate to put the AWD case in there, was hoping to use the 4405. Still not perfect, but at least low range and 4 high. I actually like the way the 4405 reacts under power, like on snow. If you stab the gas, it will just slip enough to kick the back end out, then the 4x4 takes over for nice smooth drifts. :)
So other than the 4406, that is it for options for these rigs for a t-case?
Thanks for the info!
Chris

well
that was what I was researching. there was some nv's used in some of the f-250's that were full time ( vacuum activated axles ) with shift on the fly transfer cases.

but I don't know if they have the plugs for the wiring harness that will be needed to make the ecu still work correctly.

the BW4406 seems to only need a few plug ins from the 5.0 electronics to keep everything working correctly
