What type of gas milage has everyone been getting on 2011 Explorers???

What do you mean you do 100% highway? Usually to me that means freeway or open road outside of cities. But then you say you have a crazy amount of stop signs and 25 to 45 mph travel. That would usually be city driving.

I chuckled at Bill #4's comment, until I remembered this thread Torque Steer Severe Today where you said you accelerated as normal after a stop. Sure you don't drive just a little harder than most? I experience 0 torque steer, but then I have 4wd, so it might be a little different, but not that much.

I have a 25 miles commute each day with a mix of open highway, stop and go highway, and a couple miles of city. I'm averaging just under 20 mpg over the week.

When towing the 7X14 enclosed V-nosed trailer (1,900 pounds empty) last weekend, the onboard fuel economy said I was getting about 12 mpg. Not bad for pulling a big brick.

Sorry, I meant city. I actually got a some part and a sensor changed because it caused the torque to distribute to the front right wheel and during a right turn. Now I experience no feeling of torque steer.

Cool. Glad they got that fixed. I used to get some interesting torque steer with my MINI every now and then. But I was definitely romping on it when it happened. I have yet to experience the same feeling in the Ex.

The display shows 20.6 MPG. I think this is from my wife's driving. I'm able to get the instant MPG up to around 30 - 35 MPG by using light throttle and avoiding jack rabbit starts. Of course, this is on semi-side roads at 50 - 65 mph. We've found that setting cruise at 68 mph yields the best highway MPG and 35 mph yields best city mileage. We have a FWD XLT.
