2002 Mercury Mountaineer
Hi - I have a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer v6 AWD. 154,000 miles. This thing started pulling hard to the right. My tires were due to be replaced so I figured that was it. I replaced the tires and still this thing pulls hard to the right. The wheel bearings are ok (replaced last year along with the ball joints). There is a slight humming noise coming from around the transmission / Transfer case but I din't think this can cause pulling. Any ideas on what I can test or check to find this problem?

I'd check the bearings and ball joints. Probably replaced with cheap units which fail early.

Also, after a drive check if the right side front wheel is hot, indicating a sticking caliper.

Alignment, a broken coil spring, bad bushings/ball joints, or any number of things. You should probably start looking at suspension parts to see if there is anything visually out of place.
