Thinking about replacing the shocks all around on the explorer. What do some of you use for replacements? 5.0 AWD.

How much are you willing to spend?

I'm happy with KYB's on all four corners and a Monroe 5th shock. Medium priced.

I replaced with monro-matic plus, gives you the same ride as new. I shopped around online and found them cheap there easy to install.

I got the Monroe SensaTrac ones. Replaced them quickly because they are too "spongy" for my taste. Leaning in curves, deep dives at braking, a small but quasi-constant movement (up/down some 1/2") on highways.
Still have them in my shed... almost new.
Now I use KYB Gas-A-Just (monotubes), way better control with at least the same ride quality.

BTW, don't neglect the fifth shock, is improving greatly the lateral stability of the rear end in curves.

I'm running Gabriel MaxControl monotubes. They were very stiff at first but after a little break-in time work fine.Body roll on cornering much better and really good at controlling wheel hop on gravel roads

I just replaced my rear shocks with the Monroe 58617's and it lifted my rear a full 2" and it firmed up the ride
