whats a good shock/strut for my 92 xlt

The shocks are rather shot in the 92. I had the front replaced 3yrs ago with a set of cheapo's and they need to be replaced again. I want to do it right this time and get something good. what do you guys recommend? i dont do much driving off the road. I just need something that is good that will last.

Personally, I like the rancho rs9000's.

What I like about them is that they are adjustable. I can stiffen them up if I'm going through the twisty mountains... I can loosen them up if I driving across a stat with anoying highways (like Kansas.. they have expansion joints every 6 feet)..

I also like their longevity.. I have close to 100k miles on these, and they aren't leaking... They are starting to get weaker (I have them set higher than I used to)..

I'm sure you will get other recomendations also..

in canada i checked the prices for rancho 9000
they were 120 each at 4x4 store
and were like 90 bucks at canadian tire..
never knew shocks could b so expensive

thanks for the info.. i dont really care for the ones up front. the front end seems to want to bounce a lot. like i said, these are about 3 yrs old and i think they need to be replaced already. the back ones definitely need replaced. they are original and have 180k on em

for street... dont get the ranchos.. they are great onroad, but they are more of an offroad shock.....

go with monroe sensatracs or reflexes.....

FYI--Monroe and Rancho are both owned by hte same company...Tenneco Automotive Group, Limited......
