EDIT - also B2C, I taLked to our dealer (Holman Lincoln Mercury) and asked how hard it would be to change a factory window tag. They said it's very easy to get a hold of a spare one and change it if you would like, although they didn't know why anyone would do that or try to, nobody they know has tried to yet. Hell the guy at the show probably scanned his, then changed the info and printed it out, thats how easy it is.
Bro, read my post clearly, he was General Manager for General Motors Corporation, meaning he was in charge of implementing objectives handed down from the CEO and board of members. He was not a regular "joe" manager if thats what you thought, this is a corporate manager in charge of operations of the whole corporation and made a few million per year and still has connections with General Motors as they still ask his advice occasionally. And no, he's not even close to 70 years old. My post was mainly to show the big 3 know basically everything about each other from prototypes or development (no matter how much of a secret it is) and he acknowledge that Ford did indeed think of offering the 5.0 in the Explorer to compete with the Grand Cherokee V8, but decided not to. If there was a test mule it would be destroyed like the others have said on this thread.Originally posted by Fischer
Why would it be pathetic? Bacause your "friends grandpa" told you so? That my man, is what is pathetic.

I don't know how easy it is to just get a window sticker w/o buying a car, besides asking for a friends or jacking one ect. ect., but the dealer (we're friends with them) said that you could take a window sticker for a stock 1st gen. for example, scan it, and change the info accordingly. Thats what I meant by easily.Originally posted by B2Cobra
I didn't know how easy it was to obtain another window sticker. Now that I know that information, then I could see the swap being done elsewhere. On a side not as far as having to do a lot of fab work to get a 5.0 in a Gen I, I don't really agree. I have an '88 Bronco II with a 5.0 and it didn't take much and there is plenty of room to work on it. Also have a '91 Ranger getting a 331 stroker.
Usually the biggest give away that it is a conversion is: The motor mounts, the headers..... and advanced adapter, and the year of computer wiring it had.
