I am planning to change my stock system soon and I am wondering if the equipment I am planning on is good. First of all I am planning on installing a new JVC KD-LX1 with this cool elkameleon security. The speakers are either going to be Kenwood 3-ways or Infinity 2-ways. I will later add an amp, probaly a Pioneer (basically due to my installation spot's size) and one or two Bazooka Sub Tubes( based on the fact that I don't want to give up any, or little, cargo space.). Does this sound okay and if so or otherwise, what is better for sound quality. I'm not really serious about the absolute best sound cause I;m not in my car all the time but I want something decent. Please help.

Did you mean to hang the tubes from the ceiling? NO WAY - the tubes are made to fire against something such as your back seat or door. By doing this, you'll get the best bass performance.

The Bass Tube design is made primarily so that when the port is fired into a corner, there is less chance of wave cancellation, and thus, more bass wave can reach the listener. If you left the Bazooka out in the open of a trunk, the wave shoots across an open air space towards the back, and theoretically, when the waves bounce back to the front, some may cancel out by other waves crashing into them that are still moving to the back. By placing it directly in a corner, the bass waves should all bounce out of the corner, and all the sound should move directly to the listener, lessening the cancellation. Sometimes the two speakers can actually cancel each other out when placed in certain congifurations.

If you put them on the bed of your Explorer, I think the waves would hit the back corner, travel up the inside of the liftgate, and roll over to the driver. If hanging, they might roll down and hit the rear seats, lessing the bass, but I could be wrong. Just make sure the port is fired towards something solid so that the waves bounce off; something soft or movable may absorb some of the waves before you get to hear them!
