You get what you pay for.

Just make sure when using replacement bulbs that they aren't higher wattage as that will either burn your factory wiring, housings, or both.

APC is garbage. Case closed.

apc is a ricer brand... they make really good stickers!

Seriosuly, look at all the professionals running piaas and then who runs apcs.... thought so.

haha yeh.. u guys all gotta point.. imma switch as soon as possible.. the ppl at the parts store told me they were the same.. hmm... imma get piaaS!! thanks guys!

You may consider Silverstars. I got a pair and I really like them. They are very bright and have a nice white look to them. Not to mention they cost about 30 dollars less than the PIAAs.

yeah APC is kind of a cheap quality brand, I'd stay away from em if possible.

how are silverstars compared to piaas?? and where can i pick up a pair of silverstars? i've never heard of those before? hmm..

the local autopart store should have them.... they are made by sylvania... the leading manufacturer of stock bulbs and the replacement bulbs.......

You can get Silver Stars at Autozone for $25.00 each. They recently had them on sale for $20.00 each, though so you may possibly find them cheaper.

there is currently some sort of rebate deal on them... where you get like $10 off a set or something..... the silverstars

well i dont know about anyone elses experiences but my apc *illegal* hyper blue headlights work great, had em in since last winter, really blue, but are a higher wattage than stock, havent had any problems yet, Ive ran the headlights for about an hour straight, felt the wires, and weren't even too warm. So I just say its up to you!!

Personally I would never use an APC product. For one, the ricer crowd has completely ruined any credibility the company had going for it. Aside from that, there products are cheapy made.

so yeh.. (nobody really answered the main question) how are the silverstar's compared to piaas? i mean u guys said the silverstar's are around 20 bucks? so i'm thinking piaa's being 80 bucks alot better?

I havent had the Sylvanias, but I had a set of Piaas in my old X and they sucked. I was simply not impressed. I would have bought stock ones again over them. Not worth anywhere close to 90 bucks IMO. Also one burned out after about 10 months or a year. And no it wasnt because I touched the bulb while installing it.
The Piaas were the high wattage ones, but they didnt damage my wiring or anything, just burned out too fast.

I vote against the Piaas

haha APC (another piece of crap) haha thats funny.. yeh imma try to switch to silverstars...

Yeah, I have the PIAA's also, and they really didn't improve my night vision a whole lot. They are a bit whiter than stock, but I'm willing to bet most people wouldn't ever notice that I had $70 bulbs in there versus stock bulbs. So I'm not really impressed with the PIAA's either. They were terrible in my 95, but I think the 95's had a problem with the lense because when I was doing research on buying them I noticed the only people that had complaints were owners of 95 explorers. And now in my 2000 they are a bit better than stock but not really worth the $70 again. I'd try the silverstars if I had one burn out on me, it'd be nice if we could get a pic of 2 X's next to each other, one w/PIAAs and one w/silverstars, or even a third w/stocks. Or anything like that for a comparison.

Someone w/Silverstars should find a stocker in town and ask if they can take a pic @ night next to it just at Walmart or something, it's not hard to find explorers around. I'll see if I can find one to take a pic next to around here w/my PIAAs vs. stock.
