So after trying to find a spot for my CB, I finally have an idea. I wanted a spot the was hidden, but easily acessable. So after I removed the 6 disc changer out of the center console, I found my spot. But the CB I have is too long depth wise, so I was thinking about just cutting out a spot in the bottom of the interior of the center console so that the CB will fit, and the lid will close. I was also thinking it would be easy to run wires there too. The only thing I am worried about is what is underneath the center console? Does anybody know? I just don't want to start digging and mess something else up.

In the XLT there is a duct under there for the rear passengers vents. Im sure yours is the same but I havnt been in any of the older EB's.

The rear ac air vent and blower stuff is down there. Is it too wide to use the kleenex box area?

It is too wide for the box area. I am only needing about 2-3 inches of clearance. I have seen many ways to mount various CB's but I really don't want to just mount it in position where it clearly looks bad, I want it to look like it is suppose to be there.

If there is just duct work down there, I may just go a head and start cutting, because I never use the rear vents, and I can just seal up the hole I make in the vent so that I have the clearance, and can still have the vents.

It's not that hard to pull the center console out, or take it apart. Take it apart and see if you won't cut it up. You won't be able to cut where the motor is, so don't just guess.

I didn't mean to cut it up literary. I would never do that, that is how you make huge headaches for yourself. But I will take a look at it tomorrow, I think I can get the center console out in about 5 minutes considering how many times I had to do it to get at the access panel for the o2 sensors. hopefully this will work out for me. I just don't want to jump into a project I think is not so big, and run into a huge problem. That is why I ask here first, before just diving into something. I'll be sure to grab a few pictures and let everybody know how it went.

Have fun! Might help to remove the back seats, aint hard to do and gives you a lot more room to work with
