What's up with the Rocker Panel Stripe?

Who thinks that the side stripe on the rocker panels that comes on many explorers looks good? and have you removed it?

I'm not sure of the specific year. Actually i want to say '92, but i do know it was a first gen (obviously)

Mine is orange, and does not work well with green and black. We covered mine with a black tape, like a wide pen stripe. So mine is still there but it is covered up.
