Hey guys, whats going on? So am really new to the 4x4 scene, was mainly in the Tunner scene prior to this. Well I have a 1999 Ford explorer AWD 5.0 V8. Id like to rebuild the motor soon to maybe same specs as the mustang 5.0 This should be a fun project.....I might redo the whole body as far as cosmetics goses.... new rocker panals and stuff get all the rust off and repaint it. WOuld like to get the frame powder coated. and all new suspension. I would love to raise her up and put some nice beefy tires and some nice wheels on her. I know i wanna do some custom exhaust and come out with the side pipes behind the front wheels....not sure if any one has realy done that but im sure they have. Maybe a super charger, and cosmtic wise id like to do some nice side steps and nice brush guard get rid of all the chrome and do all black out parts....some nice Ford clear black headlights and smoke the tails.....get ride of the hitch or keep it not sure.. if i keep it it will also get powder coated black. ummm yeah lol sooo Im here to get some ideas and meet some new poeple.. so hit me back up some time...later guys

Sounds like a killer explorer man, whats wrong with yours, does it not run?

But yeah, get some pics up, and keep us posted, Im also trying to get another explorer to fix up, and lift

naw motor works fine, im not familure with 6 or 8 cyl motors, so im not sure what i need to do to make it the same as the mustang 5.0 motor, some one told me head and ecu and intake?? i dont know...I know 4 cyl motors Hondas lol ....but its high on miles other then that it runs fine...just a nice rebuild port polish milled and all that good stuff stronger pistons and valves and all that good stuff

Yea i just hit 240k on my 92, she still runs like a champ, deff not like a mustang though

First, you need Torque monster headers. That is a must
