Let me change my earlier response, mine is worth more then any reasonable person would be willing to pay for it.
Since I bought my 1999 Ex Sport v6 SOHC the day before Christmas eve for $2,500, I have changed the thermostat (no big deal), had a garage install a newer engine after my timing chain slipped when the guides grenaded, Installed a new starter when the old one would sporatically leave me stranded out of town, and as of this morning, some new exhaust work (hopefully just Muffler, maybe tailpipe too).
The mileage I'm getting is getting slightly better, and the only non repair 'modification' I have done to it at this time is installing a new radio which I'm hoping to do this weekend. I bought a remote starter for it back in january but have yet to have it installed too. I still haven't been able to do anything to help get better gas mileage
Right now, I have about $5,900 into it (including purchase cost) in less than 4 months not including whatever the Bill comes to today to fix the exhaust (I would do all my own work on it if I had a garage and the time, but its my DD and I have only a driveway up here in Canada, winters make working on it outside kinda tough)
i think in the over 6 years I drove my 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup, I spent maybe $1,500 in repairs, mostly replacing mufflers and brakes (standard maintenance). This has definitly been one of the worst vehicles I have ever owned when it comes to reliability and quality. Unfortunatly I would take a huge loss trying to sell it, so I'm stuck with it for a while
