I have a 05 Trac with a 3" body lift. going to add the ranger edge 3"front spindles for more lift. i have to downsize to the smaller ranger brake rotors. need to buy new wheels. i have no idea what the backspacing on a new wheel should be. looking into 20" wheels. dont even know if it matters. Can anyone help??

ive seen one with 20s and it looked amazing. and my bros gmc sierra with 35"s has 20s. looks great. and i dont know if these will work because of backspacing.

You don't want more than 4" backspace, 3.75" is better.
Many aftermarket wheels, especially 16" and up, have a GM-type offset (i.e. more backspace) even if they have a Ford bolt pattern. Depending on the tire width, on a Ford they will either rub on the inside, look silly, or both.
Get whatever you want but you might be looking at getting spacers too.
