wheel bearings in rear??

I recently purchased a 98 XLT 4x4 and the previous owner said it needed new rear wheel bearings. It has a bit of a bumpity bump in the rear when rolling. I've searched on this site and haven't found much information on rear wheel bearings. it seems like everybody else has problems with front wheel bearings. If this isn't the problem, what would be you guys's diagnosis. Thakns for the help.

Rear wheel bearings are known to go, It doesn't happen very often but I do know a few people who had to replace them. The outer bearings you can replace your self but the inner ones on the carrier need to be pressed on and off, If you don't know what you're doing you might want to let a shop do it.
