Wheel bearings on a 94

im new to explorers and 4WD.

what all is required (parts and tools)? anyone care to give alittle detailed explanation?

i tired using the search but i got the impression having 4wd was different and that 94 and below was different.

The search should help some, just go through there some to get a more detailed explanation. I'm assuming you're talking about the front so you will definitely need:

-The special (big) socket for manual (4 prong) or auto (big big hex) hubs. More info about these is definitely available, they're about $15 if you don't have one.

-Grease/oil seals (I can't remember which they're called at the parts store) They run about $6 a pair I think.
 






yea its an auto, so i need the big hex. any other info?
just want to be clear that the inner bearing IS NOT pressed on right? just the seal or whatever.

that means auto hubs or manual hubs, not the transmission...

it isnt pressed in, just the grease seal.... the race is pressed in, but they dont need to be replaced unless they are galled or damaged
 






oops, i dont know :confused:
how would could i tell what the hubs are?
