I have an 03' Sport Trac w/ a TT Trying to decide between 265 75 R16's or 275 70 R16'. I am looking for some opinions on which tire size is is better for looks and performance. I don't do heavy off roading just muddy paths and light terrain. I want to fill the space in the wheel wells and look aggressive on the road.

265s. The wider 275 will be more likely to rub.

i personally have 265/75R16 on my truck with 2" in front and 1.75" in the rear and love how they fill the wells

this is what 265/75/16 duratracs look like ,I only have a 1.75 TT in the front,but they fill the wells nice.

Thanks for the pics and thoughts. I was originally leaning toward the 265 75's. but I started second guessing if wider was better. good info. Would Spacers help on the aggressive look or would it cause more rubbing?

yes specially if you run 265/75R16 on factory rims the tires are tucked in pretty tight on mine and dont rub but a 1" spacer would help tons and most run between 1-1.5" on the tracs.

EDIT: currently my 265/75R16 = 32.2" by 10.6" if your a little worried on that you could downsize to the 265/70R16 = 31" by 10.6" those would fit with absolutely no problems

the only rubbing I have is on the plastic inner fenders,mine is cracked and catches at full lock, im going to yank it all out one day soon.

okay I was worried about losig them under the truck that was what sparked my original thought on the wider 275 footprint.

1/4" drill bit and a black ziptie will solve that problem in 2 minutes. Also if you do it right,you cant even tell. I had to do that on all 4 corners so that my 35x12.5 wouldn't rip the plastic right out.

Honestly little easy fixes like that have been the best and most reliable fixes.

Ths would work with the wider 275 70 tire or if I went 265 75 with spacers?

It works with anything but I agree with everyone else that the 265s would be better.

If I was sticking with stock wheels, id go with the 265/75 TW guard dogs like Dakota has!
