Guys, I'm an idiot, and I know you've heard this from every other wheel-ignorant moron, but please help. I want to get this size wheel for my 2003 explorer, but Im not sure if this will work. Anyone know how it will go? Here's the specs of the wheel.

Wheel size: 19 X 17.0
Bolt pattern: 5 X 4.5
Offset: +42

Here's the link, it should work:

www.explorerexpress.com doesn't recommend 20's and up, because of performance problems i guess? So I'm trying to make a compromise between size and problems that occur with bigger wheels.

I just want to know if I will run into "rubbing" problems, and whatever else comes with getting bigger than recommended rims. What also gets to me is the "offset" size. Im not familiar with that term. How would that affect my car?

Lastly, what do you guys think, if i get 19's, low profiles, and drop the car a bit, i think it will look nice. I'm kinda going for this look:

Those wheels are 18's, and I think the car looks very nice! Thanks for any help you guys can provide!

should be fine wit hthat wheel.... the bolt pattern is right too... not 100% sure on the backspacing as i dont usually deal with the metric system... however, seeing as it is only a 7" not 17.0" wide wheel you should not run into problems... with a smaller series or sidewall on the tire, you can keep it close to factory tire outside diameter.. the reason larger than 20" wheels pose a problem to performance is that they are heavy, and thus make the vehicle heavier meaning its same amount of horsepower now has to do more work

Stock offset is 44mm, so those wheels are going to be tucked in as much as the wheels you have. You won't be able to put a much wider tire on them either. I'd look for something in the 25mm range for offset and at least 8 inches wide if you want a look similar to that Explorer Express picture.
