I was wondering who you were getting your spacers through? If you havent ordered already you should goto www.motorsport-tech.com there stuff is awesome and has a lifetime warranty on it. if you want to contact them there # is 909-514-0091. Good luck

Are there any advantages to using spacers other than allowing you to use a different bolt pattern and increasing the width or your stance (and therefore making it more stable)?

Also, I've heard mention of spacers being hard on certain components of the brake/drivetrain. How bad is it?

Well basically you got it on what advantages wheel spacer give you. I'm going to put spacer on my x to get a wider stance so it's more stable.

People say that wheel spacer put more strain on the wheel bearings and so on. But some people say they had them for years with no problem. I really think it depend on what size spacer you got and how hard your on the vechile and from normal wear and tear.
