What is the differance between wheel back spacing and wheel spacers? They do the same thing move the tire farther from the wheel bearing. I have heard that spacers are hard on the bearings i assume that back spacing is also hard on the bearings.

Can someone give me some evidence on which is better.

they both do the same thing, its just that backspacing is in the wheel itself, and spacers just push the wheel out farther.

this explains backspacing: http://www.customtacos.com/tech/index.php?article=40

a spacers simply puts a piece of metal between the hub and wheel.

both put equal stress on bearings, since they change the way the weight sits on them.

my wheels have very little backspacing, i think it looks better, but my bearings seem to go out quicker than normal, but its not too bad.

if you want your wheels put farther, get wheels with less backspacing, rather than spacers, its much safer. it costs more, but i strongly recommend it

good luck!

so if i have negative back spacing the wheel will stick out more?

what is the spacing on the stock rim?
