I just got my new wheels today, 17x8 Enkei RTS's. I put Michilen Pilot LTX's 255/55/17 on them. They look great, but I have a idea that I think would make it look alot more aggressive. My sport has huge fender flares, and they wheels dont come out as far as them. It makes the wheels look kinda small. I know in the performance products catalog I saw they had wheels spacers for our trucks. I think they would look great, but I heard they are not a good idea because they can put too much stress on the chassis. Can anyone give me some insight on this. I would really really like to do it, but I dont want to screw up my truck. Thanks alot guys in advance
Jason
by they way I will have pics up as soon as it clears up here in the NYC area.

Do a search, there was a good thread on spacers a while back. They won't stress your chassis, but they will ( depending on thickness) stress your lugs.

Jornum1-
Are you from NY if so, from where because I have been looking for Explorer enthuiasts (?) for a while and cant find any.

I live in Suffolk County on Long Island. By any chance have you ever heard of Nahansic (sp?) Station in NJ? and if so waht kind of place is it? And How do you like the 6.5in MB Quartz's?

That place sounds farmiliar, I dont know why though :-) What is it? Maybe if you describe it some I could recognize it. I love the MB quarts, they sound great, although I got my right tweeter smashed, so i have to buy a new one :-( Anyone knwo if you can just buy one tweeter?? Any help would be appreciated
Jason

My college roomate is from there and I haven't called him yet and I was curious as to what the town was like. Where did you mount your tweeters? and I think if you try calling the company or maybe writing to them they might send you a new one.

ok so if I were to put some spacers on, who sells them and how much should I pay. How much of a spacer should I get. I would like maybe a inch, is that a average size? Any help once again is apprecaited. Thanks
Jason

Jornum, go to a place that just sells custom wheels. I know they carry adapters which runs anywhere from $200-300 in sets. You should look for billet type which I heard is stronger than the hub itself. There is no stress involve on the truck. As of the spacers you was wanting, am sure you can find a better price at a local wheel shop than Performance Products. Good Luck!

There will be additional stress placed on the bearings. On the street this might show up as faster wear way down the line if you don't abuse your truck. Off road, the wear might be faster. You will be adding about the same increased stress as if you had purchased wheels with less back spacing, or more negative offset too match the spacers, so there is probably nothing to worry about. I would not go over an inch though.

THanks guys, I dont plan on offroading at all. My truck is for the street. I will probably go with the inch spacers. I think that would make it look perfect
