hey guys just wondering how good the AWD actually is.

i know that i couldnt do some serious crawling with it since it isnt selectable for 4lo and all.....

but could i still go out and have some fun with it? or is it just destined to be a road truck?

Yeah you can go out and play. It will do fine off road. It's not a true 50/50 split, it's around 70rear/30 front, so it's not quite as capable. But it'll still let you have plenty of fun off road. And if your serious about off roading you could swap in a 4406 transfer case. If you do a search here on the forum you'll find tons of info about it.

with a decent set of tires you can fair pretty well offroad, just dont over-due yourself. i high centered 35 miles from my house, out of cell phone range, with no back up. took me a while, but she made it out. crappy all seasons got me in the situation to begin with.

ya i wouldnt overdue it even if i had selectable 4wd....been there done that and it SUCKED!!!! LOL

never delt with FORD 4/awd before...always had chevy.....and they sink nicely!! LOL

right now the truck is basically stock.....factory limited rims and all season tires...which suck cuz they are hard and sound like mudders!!

im not sure what ill end up with on it....if i dont buy an actuall 4wd truck...

i want something that is aggresive enuff in mud/snow but dont sound like a tank running down the highway.....

i kinda like the factory rims....so they may stay for awhile....

i also wouldnt be doing much wheelin without some kind of a lift...body or suspension...just not sure which i want to do yet or first...or the amount since this is a daily driver and gets good gas mileage....

dont think the wiffe would like the idea of me weldin on an exocage and lifting it with 35's and bead locks and kc lights and winches!!! ahhhh but a man can dream cant he!!!

can awds wheel... pfft

looks good patrick.....thats kinda what i want to do to mine.....what all did you do to yours? and where can i find parts? all i can find is for regular 4wd or are the parts the same?
