Wheels & Tires?

As you may be able to tell, I'm new at Explorers. I have a '97 Mustang GT and an '87 Ranger... And now a '96 V8 XLT (with the stock 15X7 wheels and exploding Firestones), not EB.

Anyway, I would like to upgrade my wheel/tire combination. What are the widest and largest I can use without rubbing? I have the stock suspension (won't change), and no fender flares (yet). I'm thinking 15X8, but what offset and tire size? Advice? I'm sure all of you have tried many configurations. Will 15X10's fit? What tires on those bad boys if so?

I don't really need offroad tires, btw, but the look would be okay. Performance or all-terrain?

not sure about wheel widths; but I'm sure that it goes without saying that you should do some research on the proper backspacing.

check out http://www.explorer4x4.com/faq.htm for some tire size info.

I think I heard from somewherew that the 15 or 16X 8 mustang wheels would fit an explorer...but i may be wrong.
