When might we start hearing about the 2014 Explorer?

But the articles being referenced do not say anything about what model the engine would be available in. I think that there are assumptions being made that it will be in models other than the Sport. If so, I would expect a $4-5k premium for the engine (as the Sport is based on the XLT and carries a $6100 premium, but it isn't all engine). At that price point, it becomes a tough sell.
Agreed. Until the actual specs come out everything is an assumption. As for me, I'm quite happy with my meager 290 HP engine.:)

It will not be available in any trim level but the Sport, case closed. There is no way Ford would piss off that many Sport owners by offering it across the board. It's what makes the Sport exclusive. You can't get it in any other Taurus besides the SHO, so why would the Explorer be different?

That may posible be true but I can tell you that Ford upset a lot of late 2012 buyers, who wanted the 3.5L Ecoboost only to find it was then put into the Sport. So upsetting buyers isn't exactly new in the automotive industry. It's sales that count.:thumbsup:

Peterk9 that is what i meant that the 2013 ltd doesn't have the tt 365 hp, and what i say is that many review that i have been reading leads the thought that the 2014 tt can be tt 365 hp and if it is i want one and if not no big deal...! Thank you peterk9 buddy !

Ok so using your logic why would they do this and kill off a model they invested design, marketing, and specific parts. There would be no need for a Sport model so they would not be able to sell it.

They days of car companies putting their premium engines in all trim levels are just about gone
Can you put the SRT8 motor in any Jeep GC?....

See your own post #42. If they made the 3.5L Ecoboost an option in the top end Limited package the price would be much more than the Sport. It may no doubt be a small target market but as an option it shouldn't cost Ford much if anything and the returns would be pure profit. Also, I believe that manufacturers have a target to meet soon to increase the fuel mileage of all their vehicles and the EcoBoost could help in that.
The Sport would still retain its unique features at a lower price point.
Besides, I never said that this is going to happen. It was only an assumption on my part. The almighty $ rules in this industry. Time will tell.:)

I still think it would kill the market for the Sport model. All I here on here also is I did not want to spend them money for it... and there are a few things on the limited you can't have on the Sport none of them makes me want 290hp or less....
As you stated time will tell... but for the price they would charge for a 3. tt Limited I would go buy a a Mercedes GL Bluetec..not that far off with discounts

The '14 Limited will NOT be available with the Ecoboost 3.5L, once again only offered in the Sport trim. Trust me, I know. Only changes to the Explorer for the '14 MY are two new colors (also deleting two) and a new feature for the Limited trim (and it's not the Eco 3.5L).

Do you know what the two new colors are? Any new exterior colors for MY 2014 Explorer Sport?

Im going to suggest one of the interior upgrades for 2014 LIMITED will be heated 2nd row bucket seats. Using the two button like cutouts on the rear of the front center console. I hope theres a retro kit too.

Yeah, cause dealer employees really know of future product plans. I'll come back in a couple months when the order guide is officially released and say "I told you so".

If it's ture or not to me it will not really make any difference because i gave him an order for the 2014 ltd 302a in champaign color with black interior just waitng for other gadgets it might come with, if it comes with he tt well great if not que sera sera, i really don't like the sport rims and it's missing other feature's that the ltd 302a pkgs brings, so riley que sera sera, and the dealer i was talking about has been around since 1964 he is one of the biggest in the tri state area smith carins ford in yonkers ny, i have been leasing from since 1998 (dwgiht owner).

I agree with Riley, dealers know less then we do on this forum.

Go up to anyone at your dealer and ask them what the Job3 changes where made to the Explorer and see if you get an answer other then "What's Job3 mean?"

If 2014 Job1 is June then I'm guessing the 2014 ordering guide should be released March/April.

HERE IS THE MEANING OF JOB 3.Job Speaks

3 After this, Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth. 2 He said:

3 “May the day of my birth perish,
and the night that said, ‘A boy is conceived!’
4 That day—may it turn to darkness;
may God above not care about it;
may no light shine on it.
5 May gloom and utter darkness claim it once more;
may a cloud settle over it;
may blackness overwhelm it.
6 That night—may thick darkness seize it;
may it not be included among the days of the year
nor be entered in any of the months.
7 May that night be barren;
may no shout of joy be heard in it.
8 May those who curse days[a] curse that day,
those who are ready to rouse Leviathan.
9 May its morning stars become dark;
may it wait for daylight in vain
and not see the first rays of dawn,
10 for it did not shut the doors of the womb on me
to hide trouble from my eyes.
11 “Why did I not perish at birth,
and die as I came from the womb?
12 Why were there knees to receive me
and breasts that I might be nursed?
13 For now I would be lying down in peace;
I would be asleep and at rest
14 with kings and rulers of the earth,
who built for themselves places now lying in ruins,
15 with princes who had gold,
who filled their houses with silver.
16 Or why was I not hidden away in the ground like a stillborn child,
like an infant who never saw the light of day?
17 There the wicked cease from turmoil,
and there the weary are at rest.
18 Captives also enjoy their ease;
they no longer hear the slave driver’s shout.
19 The small and the great are there,
and the slaves are freed from their owners.
20 “Why is light given to those in misery,
and life to the bitter of soul,
21 to those who long for death that does not come,
who search for it more than for hidden treasure,
22 who are filled with gladness
and rejoice when they reach the grave?
23 Why is life given to a man
whose way is hidden,
whom God has hedged in?
24 For sighing has become my daily food;
my groans pour out like water.
25 What I feared has come upon me;
what I dreaded has happened to me.
26 I have no peace, no quietness;
I have no rest, but only turmoil.”
