When to Replace Radius Arm Bushings

How do I know when to replace my radius arm bushings? I have a 93 XLT 2WD with 82K. What is a sure fire way to tell if they are bad. I have a KNOCK in the front end. I have replaced ball joints about 6 months ago, and wheel bearing last year. Also in the last 6 months I have installed a 2" Sky Jacker lift. Everything seems tight. I have read several post of people having to replace RA bushing. Can someone help me with this problem? If I have to replace the RA bushings how hard is it? Thanks for the help!
