When to replace the timing chain?

About a month ago I installed a Hayden severe duty fan clutch, it was just what I needed. The fan is loud now but it is worth it. My temperatures stay down even on long, steep climbs. My fan is old & cracked, it will get replaced soon. I highly recommend the Hayden 2497, best upgrade I have done yet, $53 on Amazon.
