Hey guys since im replacing my alternator i thought i might change my battery cables while im at it , but I cant find any for a resonable price, does 45 bucks for both cables sound right? I went to autozone and they gave me 2 cables but neither one is long enough thanks for the help guys!

i can get you some real nice 4 gauge for a lot cheaper than that with rings for the ends. i'd go down to napa though and just pick it up there.

alright I will check with napa in the morning thanks !

my friend who works in a jeep shop made me some new ones with 1 gauge welding cable at the right length and with all proper connectors for only 10$....

I just bought the OEM positive cable form Ford for about 50 bucks. I think it is worth the money because it comes with the connector at the starter relay. This location is the second spot that corrosion occurs (after the battery post). The power distribution block gets its current through this location. I have rarely seen corrosion on the negatice cable.

I have a question along the same lines. My Cables are (visually) in pretty good condition...however the terminals are deffinitly in BAD shape. The soft metal is litteraly ripping apart at the pinch bolt. My question is I was a Rual King and saw a fairly big rack of "universal" terminals. Could I use something like this to replace my terminals? The only big thing I was worried about is one of my cables have another smaller cable molded into it and the terminal. I hope that makes sense. What do you all think, universal terminals good or bad idea?

You can go to a marine supply store and get thecomponents and build your own cables.
