You have two options. 1) Get an OE cable from a dealer, which I just found will cost $110 for my Focus. 2) Remove the cable, go down to Auto Zone and buy a length of it and terminals, and make your own.
The shop I went to said that my electrical tape wrap job on the Focus was good enough and to save my money.

I have always been able to find replacement cables with a inch or two of stock. Usually Kraggens, Pep boys or MacRilleys for $10 or so.
