Here is the Motorcraft part for a 97-98 SOHC. There are actually 2 numbers shown...but one has been superceded to this:

If you look, you can find this for just over $100.

You may also be able to locate some aftermarket regulators that are adjustable.

that part doesnt match the one in our car, im pretty sure that is the one for an ohv motor. schucks shows that one fits too, however, it will not. they mount way different. ill get a picture when i get a chance. thanks for the response though, everyones time helping me is very appreciated
