I broke this vacuum hose. It runs between the EVR and upper intake manifold. It's a 'hard' type of formed vacuum hose. I'm trying to join it back together using a short piece of rubber hose. If anyone one has any ideas how to fix this hose I would appreciate your suggestions. Better yet if anyone knows where I can buy one. Ford no longer makes the hose. My truck is a 1997 Ford Explorer XLT 5.0L engine EFI. See photo. Not sure if the image will show up. Larger image here: http://img211.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=078857402_DSCF0090dd_122_1156lo.jpg

Try a couple layers of shrink wrap, but if that doesn't work you could try and make your own line and totally replace the line with the same ID hose. Last ditch effort would be to go to a junk yard and see if there is an engine with vacuum lines still intact, you may or may not have any luck with that at all though.

I thought about using heat shrink tubing, but I'm afraid the heat will melt the plastic. I didn't think about using shrink wrap though. I also thought about replacing it with some regular rubber vacuum hose but the ends need to plug into fittings on the EVR and intake manifold. I also don't know if regular hose will collapse under the vacuum.

Thanks for your suggestions.
