Nobody knows?

why is it red?

The red is power cable.....The one he is talking about is the line that goes into the airbox...I don't know where that goes though....

If this is like my '94 xlt, that "thingy" on the air box goes to manifold vacuum. Does anyone have the vacuum routing sticker? that would show the connection.

Dan

Yea. I found it broken after i changed the spark plugs. I did notice my cruise control/speedo has been acting funny since.

i love threads like this..on the end of it does it look like it broke? or does it look like it pulled out...if it broke then there might be something else waging around under there

but if it just pulled off chances are whatever it goes to is only as far as it can reach

next ur gunna wanna look at the dirt on it..does it look nasty like it was getting wet or is it in good shape..that might help tell u what part of the engine bay

then if it is stiff it will have been molded to lay flat on things so u can try putting it diff places seeing where it fits =) i hope u figure it out

I am not quite sure

I am not quite sure
I had a 94 with a 4.0 OHV but it has been so long ago. I think it goes to the high speed low drag canuder valve.
I am not quite sure though, it could go to the muffler bearing or Oh yeah NOW I remember  and you'll want to fix it and quick  it is part of the bleed off valve for the Headlight fluid. Make sure you use Halogen fluid only. :D

If I remember right, it either goes into a "T" in the vacuum line feeding the FPR or the directly to the vacuum tree on the intake manifold. When I replaced it, it was too hard to find a piece of plastic tubing like that, so I just replaced it with a stretch of generic vacuum tubing.

Cool, that would explain the throttle wierdness, and my recent CEL. Ill look again tomorrow, and try to fix. Thanks!

looks like the size of the hose coming from my EGR valve.

Bingo!

just out of interest SVO, does your airbox have the little solinoid/door that switches between hot and cold intake?

Hmmmmmm! good question I'll have to look at my air box, I do know it had 2 vacuum lines going to the lid part of the box.

I have an adapter and conical filter on it now, and have blocked off the vacuum line except for the one going to the HVAC system.

EDIT: yes the lower "snout" did have the vacuum operated blend flap for preheated air off the exhaust manifold.

If you really need it I can shoot a picture of it and up-load it tonight, as I don't have a mem-stic adapter here at the cage.

hahaha, that's funny SVO... You're in Texas right? And you have that, I'm in Canada and mine is just a dummy, there is no modulator control or actuator...

My 92 has that line going in behind by the left side of the coil pack.....

And I was so sure it was the breather hose for the headlight fluid.

Cool thanks for all the help! Imma fix it later this week when it supposedly warms up some!
