OK I was taking off my recently installed manual t-case that I converted from auto. I noticed a sensor above the shift mechanism just by the vent hose. Oopps I didn't have it connected to anything. Where does it connect?

is it the 4x4 indicator switch? I found a wire harness that was hooked into my old t-case from my 93. There are two wires light blue and black/white. Harness is only about 9-10 inches long so I am assuming it connects into the tranny somewhere but my 93 was manual tranny and my 91 is auto tranny.

The harness says F37B AND 14K067 on it but I can't find it on my 91 EVTM.

Come on guys I just went out under my truck and can't find a place to connect the wire to.

Speed sensor?

don't know, but there should be some type of electrical connection that lights up the 4x4 and LOW light on the dash, both manual and auto have the same lights on the lower right of the gauge cluster.

Not that one. its on the other side of t-case.

I've been trying to find out the same thing on my manual. I'm going to pull it into the shop today and see if can figure it out cause i want my 4wd lights to work when i have it in 4wd.

The little 2 pin connector on the driverside is the 4wd indicator light switch- dashboard I believe. Im looking for my wiring diagram to check the connection.

Good...once you figure out how to work it you can tell the rest of us :D

Ok found it, the connector has a light blue and a light blue with black trace.

As best I can tell it works the dash lights.

switch is closed in 4x H or L. It grounds through the case.

LB - connects to the "4x4" light
LB/B - connects to "low" light

connector has two clips one ot 3, and one at 9 o'clock
it also has two locating channels at 7 and 11 o'clock
oriented as above the top connector is LB/B ,lower is LB.

maybe that will help- all of the info is from my 91 FSM wiring diagrams addendum so wire colors and such may be different.

Have Fun

to check it take a test light hook it to the either pin of the switch and the + on the battery. Shigft it to 4wd the light should light. Switch pins and shift into low the other light should also light- remember in low range they are both "on"

good luck

That's what i was going to do later today, glad you figured it out first!

I doubt my 97 has those connections on it, so i might have to wire it up differently.

If i just ran wires to each of those pins, would the 4low light work?

It should if you run the wires from the 4x light to the correct pin on the switch, and from the low light to the other pin you should get the 4wd light on in high, and both the 4wd and the low light on in low.

the switch is to ground, so if you run 12v+ to the lights, and then from lights to the switch, when the switch closes the circuit is complete.

This could get hairy. I was hoping to be able to do something with wires right be hind my stereo that i cut from the GEM, they go strait to the lights.

Well can't you splice into the old round connector from the auto t-case. By the way my wires were light blue and black with white trace.

what were the wire colors on the auto t-case for 4x4 hi low light?

check them- if they light with aground connection you should be golden:)

I would assume that the later models have a similar switch on the case- I dont have the wiring diagram, but it should be easy to figure out... if you have the diagram.
