I'd like to see where everyone ran their power wires so I can kinda get an idea of what I have to do, I've never done an install on an explorer and I'm doing my first today, I'd rather find out where everyone else ran their wire than sit out there for an hour trying to find a place to put it.....

PLEASE INCLUDE A PICTURE IF YOU CAN

There's a factory grommet above and behind the brake pedal. I enlarged it with a utility knife and all my wires go through there.

Sorry, don't have a picture. Good luck!

If you wanna take the cheap way out you can run them right through the steering collumn boot. I didnt do that tho. I drilled a hole and put a grommet in behind the brake pedal. Just make sure where you drill is clear on the engine bay side!

Its a good idea to coat the grommet with silicone sealant after running the wire.

Ahh, yes, I forgot to say that. Aldive, your always picking up the slack. ;)

I just fished mine through the fender on the drivers side then under the door jam and under the carpet.

I would have rather ran them rhtough the fire wall but I did not have time or knowledge of where and how.

I also have ran some wiring under the chassis and up through the drain plug under the drivers side floor.

Good luck. It is so teadious wiring things for me.

I drilled a hole next to the factory grommet behind the brake pedal. I then used a plastic grommet and sealant to fill the hole.

Since all my equipment is in the rear, i ran my power cable along the frame, and through one of those body plugs in the cargo area... cut an X in the plug, got the wire through and siliconed it up nice and tight... done this on 2 explorers with no problems.

I think I'm doing it like I did my friends stratus r/t and like Fischer did, there is a fast way without straining yourself, the hardest part of wiring through the fender is getting it through that rubber grommet on the door to the inside, all those wires make it a tough squeeze, hopefully my 4 gauge can fit through

I drilled a hole just to the left of the emergency fuel shutoff switch and ran the wire through there. I ran it there for a couple of reasons, one I didn't have my pedals in the way, and 2 my amplifier was mounted on that side anyway so I just ran the wire over to the kick panel and down the chanel to the rear. Also used a rubber gromet in the firewall as well.

That is a pretty hard place to get into. I had to use grill tongs to fish out the hanging wire. I barely made it, though the thicker guage may be of an advantage as it won't be so soft.

I don't have a system but I wanted some ample line to the rear for things (?) whatever they may be.

There is a plug you can push out next to the e-brake, you have to remove the side kick panel. It is in front of the door jam. You should have enough room for 4 guage.

Blender possibly.
