Hey guys, sorry my first post can't be more of an introductory but I'm in a bind and need some guidance. While doing the 00M12 fix I ruptured the steel braided fuel line that runs into the fuel rail on the driver's side bank. It's dealer only and I've been told it's on back order from Ford, could be weeks or months. I called all junkyards in the area and there is only one that may have a couple and I'm going to check them out today, but if I strike out there I don't know what to do. Any suggestions? I've GOT to have a replacement in just a few days. Thanks for the help, and we'll do the proper introduction soon.

PS - It's a 98 with the 4.0, just in case it helps.

I had a similar problem last month with my fuel line going from the filter to the hard line on the tank.

The solution...Napa. they did not have the specific line, but they did have peices-parts to fit together and make something work.

I ended up getting a peice of 3/8" fuel line, 4 fuel line specific hose clamps (I put 2 at each end because I am just **** like that) and a new clip that snaps to the filter (I don't think that you will need this but you may need some other clip to attach it to the line). It cost me about $21 all together.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I think I could use a hose clamp up by the fuel rail but I don't know how I could get it spliced down at the other end. I'm not familiar with that fitting, it's one of those that requires the special tool to get it to separate. Is this a universal type of fitting that I pick up a parts house and attatch to a new line?

I had to use a hack saw blade to cut that "special fitting off" I just went real slow and carefully, not to create any sparks.

I had to cut the special fitting twice, once on the top and once on the bottom to get it off. It was pretty tough. Once I did that, I slipped the rubber fuel line over the end of the metal hard line that it was attached to and clamped it with 2 clamps.

I got a repair line kit from O'Reilly a couple months ago for $24.My son broke his where
it goes from the fuel rail to the filter.
