I am going to change the oil in the differential in my '02 explorer.

I was wondering where would be the best (and cheapest) place to buy "Motocraft SAE 75w-140 High Performance Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant"

I want to use Motocraft oil. I do not think that the local Autozone or Pepboys carries Motocraft products.

My only guess would be the dealership, but I assume that this would be the most expensive place.

I am looking for the lowest price without sacrificing for another brand

I would appreciate any suggestions ,thanks.

Is there a reason you're stuck on motorcraft?

Well since the 3gen explorers has had the whine with the rear differential ford switched from 75w-90 gear oil to 75w-140. The 140 oil has seemed to fix the whine issue on most explorers.

My explorer has 75w-140 oil in it from the factory in the rear end so I have never had any whine issues. I thought sine the 3gen explorer is famous for this issue i should not jinx it and use another fluid too different.

However on second thought, if you know of a good alternative to 75w-140 differential oil for the 3gen explorers I am open to suggestions.

If you want to go with the good stuff get some royal purple of Amsoil (don't know if the do 75w-140), but pretty much any of the gear oils are very similar.
