I had a deer run in front of my 1995 Explorer and break the headlamp assembly. I have found and ordered new assemblies but it appears the adjusters were rusted up and no longer work properly, and the plastic parts seem stripped or broken too.
.
The long adjuster that goes up above the headlamp for vertical adjustment just spins in its plastic "gear" unit and does not adjust at all. The smaller ones for horizontal adjustment are broken or too rusted to work
.
I have run searches looking for generic adjusters (to avoid the high prices at a dealership) and have come up empty. Could some of you suggest places where I might find replacements at reasonable cost?
.
Thank you!

Salvage yard. Gotta' be a yard somewhere. Where's Gavilan? A google/google earth search finds nothing.

Chefduane, darn post office insists we use the zip code name Lindrith instead of Gavilan. It is a small community actually 10 miles north of Lindrith, NM. Search on "Murrow Ranch, NM" and Google Maps will try to show you "Morrow Ranch" but underneath you can click on "Search instead for Murrow Ranch," which is my place. It is on the Continental Divide about 100 air miles north of Albuquerque.

Lindrith - Home of the Lindrith Mustangs! Yeah, you are out there a ways. Saw where the Murrow Field Airport is and Ojito, but still no Murrow Ranch. Best thing I would think is to get a list of salvage yards in Alb and start calling them. Hopefully some would have a '95 with headlamps still intact. They MAYBE would pull them for you and ship them but prolly not. Heckuva' ways to drive.

Thanks, Turdle - those are the parts. A little better price than the regular dealer retail too. But still $130 for all the adjusters to do both headlamps! And the long vertical one says "no longer available." May have to go the junkyard route...

Yes, Albuquerque is about 2.5 to 3 hours but it is my shopping city. Looks like i will have to visit some junkyards there if I can't find aftermarket parts. I am going to check the "Help!" rack of aftermarket parts at the discount car places too. What a pain. I was able to get the grill, complete headlamp assemblies, and one turn light cluster assembly from aftermarket sellers on Amazon for not much more than $100. That was a surprise! I had already replaced the other turn light cluster previously.
.
PS - strange you didn't see Murrow Ranch - it is pinned left of the airstrip marker and it shows up for me. Google Maps is weird.
