I'm talking about those rows of louvers cut into hoods and tailgates, etc. I see'em on hot rods, customs. It looks like the body panel gets stamped with a die that cuts and forms the steel. Anybody know what I'm talking about? I'm thinking of getting some on my hood.

The going rate in MD for louvers is $1.50 per louver if you hood is stripped or $2.50 if it is still painted. My father has all of his 50s custom cars louvered.

Did you see that post a while back withthe grand prix louver install into a Jeep hood? That looks like the way to go if you ask me....

I'll have to search for that post. I've thought about that route too, getting some kinda vents from the junkyard.

dwnthehatch, what kind of place does it? A rod and custom shop, or a machine shop, or what?

I would just call some body shops in your area that do custom work. They can probably hook you up with the right place.
I did not realize it was so cheap to do! With my hood's paint messed up the way it is, I might do something like that too. Great idea Bill!
