Where to mount box for Premier Power welder?

I just picked up a pretty good deal on a Premier Power Welder for my 1997 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0. I am wondering if anyone on here has installed one in their explorer/mountaineer/ranger and if they have, where did you mount the main control box and idle adjuster thingy? Right now I am considering on the firewall in the passenger foot area as high as I can get it against the A/C stuff.

why not the old sub box/storage pock hole in the back? youd have to run alot of cable, but it would be convenient to use there. especially with the on-board inverter
