where's my avatar?

I've read the rule where only elite members can use avatars, but I've been here a short time and have seen avatars on wannabe's posts. Am I missing something? Or just to new to figure out how to?

i think he is talking about the little explorers under our (wannabie's) names. if i remember correctly the little explorers come with the number of posts you got
