Where's my ECU?

Funny enough this is the first time I've had to access my ECM(ECU), but my check engine lit up so I want to know what code its giving me before I ask what the problem could me. It's a 97 V8, does anyone know where my computer is? thanks

I got a '96 XLT, so it should be near the same spot. Look on the firewall (in passenger compt.) near the parking brake. There should be a little black box with a handle-looking-thing on it. That should be the computer.
