Did you drain the block?

Does the double row radiator hold more coolant and if so, was that 12L spec for a system with it and you used a single row radiator instead?

I do not know. How can i know it ?

AFAIK, the double row radiator core is thicker. If you have a picture showing the thickness or the dimensions, or the part # from the seller (link to it?) then someone else might know whether you have the single or double row radiator, but I have not seen both in person. There are topics where the differences are mentioned in this 2nd gen forum, you might look through these search hits:

Don’t worry about the capacity. It is very common for coolant to still be trapped in places like the engine block (water jackets).

Mix your coolant in a separate container (or use pre-mix) and fill the system. Drive it a little, and continue to top off until the level stabilizes.

^ The point is that coolant remaining in the block, is part of that 12L total capacity.

take the picture from the top!

99 explorer will have single core radiator unless it is a v8 then some of them had dual core

I can't tell anything from the pics.

Here is a diagram. Notice that there is a wide top plate on the radiator, do not measure there. Measure thickness below the top plate at the fins. A single core radiator will have a fin (core) thickness of about 1". A dual core will be a bit more than 2" about 2.25".

That is the factory dual core radiator
Came with the tow package

You need a spectra premium Cu1824

Yep that’s a the dual core
