which exhaust is best?

this is such a common topic and i know there are many threads. But, i am planning on a catback in the spring. usually people's comments are based on price and value. I am looking for opinions based on Power Performance and Sound only. Money not a factor which catback do you reccomend.

you don't say what engine. But if 'money no object' then you GOTTA go w/ BORLA !!!

not on a v8. the borla is way to quiet. if money is no option go with a cheap flowmaster single or dual set up. the power might be a little less. i repeat "might" but it will sound soooo much better. a friend back at home had the borla and you would have sworn we didn't have the same size engine, and that was before i did any internals.

I got the Flowmaster Force II system for about $200 and I'm pretty happy with it.

ill second the force II...i just got one 3 days ago and oh man its exactly what i wanted. nice low deep rumble on the outside and barely noticable on the inside. got it for 170 bucks too.I highly reccomend it

Did you get yours welded together? I can hear my exhaust rattling at idle and I'm wondering if yours does the same thing.

I don't think it's coming from the cat because I didn't have the rattle before I had the Flowmaster installed

ya know? i never looked. i dropped it off at a place that normally doesnt do stuff like exhaust but they did it for me since were good customers (good meaning were there much good meaning lots of money out of my pocket) ill look tomrrow at it but im pretty sure it was just bolted on. ill get back to ya.

I also have the Force II and replaced the cat at the same time. I didn't feel secure with just the clamps so I spot welded everything and have no rattle. I love the sound.

engine size

sorry i forgot to mention engine size i have a 96 XLT 4.0 ohv i have a k&n FIPK. I want a deep sound and i dont care about interior sound. i am young and a little noise doesnt bother me. more suggestions please. Also anyone with a borla what are your +/- ofs yours. i am leaning towards borla.

I'll second the flowmaster 50 series SUV muffler. I got the dual in/ dual out muffler and had 2.25" dual pipes run. I love it... but I think my friends love it more. They are always itching to hear it. "C'mon man, start your truck. Just do it real quick. Rev it up a little, pleeeeese."
