WHICH GASOLINE, BEST QUALITY???

What about us poor folks..

..that don't have that many choices. Around Western New York the choices are limited. Sunoco, Mobil, BP, and Delta Sonic are the majors around here. Is the gas from all of these places garbage????:(

I never had any problems, but I do make a point not to go to gas stations that don;t do much volume. You are more likely to get old gas with condensation in it with they stations that don't move as much volume. Other than that, whatever is cheap and close is what I fill up on.

I am not sure if this was just in Ohio, or all over, but all the gas stations around here had untill this summer to dig up their old tanks and replace them with new double wall tanks. So there should not be an issue with water, except from condensation. The best way to fight that is to buy from the cheapest place. They are selling so much, that the water never collects. Another hint is to avoid buying gas when the tanker is unloading, or for several hours after. The inflow stirs up the sediment on the bottom of the tank. That is another reason to buy from the busiest station.
Car and Driver magazine did an article last month on octane ratings and performance. The bottom line was that unless you have higher than normal compression, or a really sophisticated engine computer and your owner's manual says to, don't waste your money buying premium gas, no matter what the oil companies claim. They did dyno and track testing. The cars that were designed to run on regular showed no difference when run on premium. The cars that called for premium lost a little when run on regular.

Pack,
In WNY, most of our gas is supplied by NOCO or Grand Island Petroleoum, so it doesn't matter too much where you buy your gas.

I usually go to the busiest stations in the area, which means that the gas is fresh and has not been sitting in the tank for months collecting garbage. I usually use Delta Sonic or NOCO.

i use sunoco because its the only gas card i have.

i use premium gas because i dont pay for the gas card.

:D :bounce:

I use nothing but Chevron. It is probably the most consistantly high quality fuel you can buy. Brands like ARCO, BP, and Exxon do not always have the same consistant supplyer so the gas can not always be the same quality.
