which Magnaflow to get?

Yeah, finish doing the performance upgrades before you swap it out. Put a KKM in and put a little dynomat extreme along the exhaust path.
Hokie's has gotten mistaken for a V8.
I still need to get a KKM... but I'm satisfied as is.
Also, if you get the end of the pipe slash cut, it will help.

Just a note on the emails that I've posted before.. I actually have a Universal 5x8x22" muffler, not the Truck or Turbo XL. I dunno, there's still some resonance on the highway, but I'm tired of screwing with it. I'm sure this won't be a problem once I get my 32's b/c my cruising RPM's will drop. I have Dynamat Xtreme on the load floor and along the driver's side, I didn't have enough to do my passenger's side and I didn't want to work around my amps to get it on. I guess I probably should put some along the passenger's side fenderwell, and that whole area. Also, my rear window's don't seal properly (lots of wind noise in the highway) so my truck is actually louder in the driver's seat than the passenger's seat (wierd b/c the pipe dumps behind the passenger side rear wheel). So I think that my noise might die down some more once I adjust my windows (the Sports have the pop out windows which don't seal all that well).

I wish I had that problem. I'm not sure which magnaflow I have (universal, truck, or turbo), but all my friends say it sounds like rice. Really, the only time it even remotely sounds like an 8 is at idle, and on the highway, anyone in the back seat has to yell to be heard. I definitely have to change something, but not sure what yet.

maybe you need to try a flow master 40 delta it might be what you are looking for

That's what I'm thinking of doing. Here's my plan: 40 series delta, then 50 series delta, then stock.

let me get this straight if you are not satisfied with the 40 then you will try the 50 then stock. correct? sounds expensive, but if you are willing then go ahead besides the money it is a good plan. keep us updated.

Yeah, that's the plan. Hopefully I will like the 40 series. I still need to listen to some sound clips before I go ahead and change it. I know it will be expensive (I'm not even going to keep track because I don't want to know), but I plan on keeping the Ex for at least 100k more, so I need something that is bearable on the highway. I kind of wish I never would have touched the exhaust, but I got bitten by the bug. I believe there is no cure (except spending more $ maybe).

do you have a loud stereo? if so even in the most quiet performance mufflers there is going to be a little noise but proably not as bad. on my blazer there was a nice hum at high way speeds that mixed perfectly with my subwoofer. the first couple weeks i would get a head ach from riding in my blazer but now i miss the sound.
if anything you will get used to a nice hum.

s10 blazer, aka green machine (RIP)

I don't mind a little hum. The problem I have now is that it is just as loud inside as it is outside, and you have to yell to have a conversation.
