ok guys, i got the door panel off, now, because the speakers were original they have some retarded plug on 'em. There's a light blue/white and orange/green.

I saw the wiring diagram thread, but does anyone have a diagram which includes +/-?

damit all... still can't get it off.

It isn't that bad... :)

Pull the screws out by the pull handle on the armrest, and pop the panel off. The switch panel/door handle slides through the back of the trim panel to remove it if you want to. You can use a screwdriver to start the panel at the bottom and get it loose and it is just held on with "Christmas Tree" tension clips, it'll just pull off. Then the speakers just have 4 bolts holding them to the door.

I too am wondering which is + and - , did you find out?

simple...pop the speaker with a 9 volt DC battery...it will tell you which wire is which.

LF Speaker (+) ORANGE/LIGHT GREEN
LF Speaker (-) LIGHT BLUE/WHITE
RF Speaker (+) DARK GREEN/ORANGE
RF Speaker (-) WHITE/LIGHT GREEN
LR Speaker (+) GRAY/LIGHT BLUE
LR Speaker (-) TAN/YELLOW
RR Speaker (+) ORANGE/RED
RR Speaker (-) BROWN/PINK

hum, could you explain in a little more detail what you mean? i'm installing some new speakers the FSM conflicts on the Sub, one year its its + then - next year they swapped them so that they are reversed and i'd like to double check. it would be a great check .. . .

If you change all the speakers, it doesn't matter.

For example you can assume that the wire, on the left is +, and just make sure you keep that assumption for all the other speakers.

I would rather not "assume" anothing.

Simple.

1. cut the plug...leave some wire.
2. take a 9 volt battery and put the wires on the + and - of the battery. If the speaker pops "out" than the wire on the positive of the battery is the positive speaker wire.

Repeat for any speaker in any vehicle in the entire world...and the the "guess" and "assumption" out of it.
